Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici admits Juventus still "loves" Paul Pogba amid speculation that the Manchester United star is poised for a dramatic return to Turin.

The 26-year-old has spent three seasons at Old Trafford, but after misunderstanding with Jose Mourinho and suffering a dramatic loss of form with his substitute Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pogba admitted earlier in the week that he was ready for a new challenge.

"As you said, there is a lot of talk and a lot of thought," Pogba told reporters in Japan.

"For me, I've been in Manchester for three years and I'm doing very well, some good times and some bad times, like everyone else, like everywhere.

"After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season too … I think it might be a good time for me to have a new challenge somewhere else.

"I'm thinking about it – to have a new challenge somewhere else."

Real Madrid have been tightly linked to a move, led by Zinedine Zidane, but the Spanish giants have already spent more than 250 million pounds on new recruits this summer and could potentially strive to match United's request.

Juventus have sold Pogba back to Manchester in the summer of 2016 but are now ahead of the line to hire the World Cup champion and make him the centerpiece of a new team of Maurizio Sarri.

"Pogba is a Manchester United player, he has been with us for many years, he grew up here and we love him, but he is a Manchester United player," said Paratici at Sarri's official performance on Thursday.

Juventus, who hired Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer from Arsenal before Sarri's appointment, would also have won the race to hire PSG star Adrien Rabiot, who was linked to United.

"There are a lot of clubs that want Rabiot," added Paratici.

"We are in the race not only for him but the other targets in our minds. Let's discuss this with Maurizio and try to find the right goals together for the team we want to see.
