Neighbors star Eve Morey lands two grand nominations after the tragic exit of Sonya

The nominations for the Logie Award were revealed – and it's good news for Neighbors, but particularly for actress Eve Morey.

Earlier this year, Eva's favorite character, Sonya Rebecchi, left Australian soap after 10 years a touching cancer plot, and the actress has now won nods to the most popular actress and the Gold Logie.

The latter is a really prestigious Down Under prize, presented to the Most Popular Personality on all Australian TV, so it's really cool to see a soap actress being nominated – and you can watch the moment that Eve finds out she was also nominated below:

"It's very strange," she said after bursting into a nervous laugh. "Thank you, once again.

"I just can not even imagine the work would be recognized that way."

Neighbors was nominated four times as much for the awards, with Ryan Moloney being nominated for Best Actor, Bonnie Anderson for the Best New Talent Award, and the soap being nominated for Most Outstanding Drama Series and Most Popular Drama Program.

Meanwhile, Home and away also received nominations at this year's Logie Awards, with Courtney Miller being nominated for New Talent, Ray Meagher for Most Popular Actor, and Soap for Most Popular Drama.

Regardless of whether Eve wins the Gold Logie or not, the actress has already won everyone's award: Digital Spy Badge of honor. We're not saying we invented the prize specifically for her, but we're not saying that either …

Neighbors will air on weekdays at 1.45 pm and 5.30 pm on Channel 5 (UK) and at 6.30 pm on 10 Peaches (Australia).
