Appl instant messaging BlackBerry Messenger will shut down its consumer service on May 31.
In a blog post titled "Time to Say Goodbye," the company Emtek, which partnered with BlackBerry in 2016, announced the closure.

"Three years ago, we decided to reinvigorate BBM's consumer service, one of the most beloved instant messaging applications. The technology industry, however, is very fluid and, despite our substantial efforts, users have shifted to other platforms while new users have proved difficult to sign, "he says.

The Verge reported that the corporate version of the application, called BBMe, would continue operations.
It is available for free download on the Google Play Store, with a subscription of $ 2.49 for six months of service. The service will soon arrive in the Apple App Store.
