Gold marked its best week in three years and its highest value at nearly six. It raised its price to $ 80 and surpassed $ 1,400 an ounce for the first time since 2013, so it reviewed Reuters.

Problems in the Middle East have contributed to the price of precious metal increasing 5% during the week and almost 10% so far this year.

The upward trend was accompanied by a weakening dollar. The price of gold is in dollars: when the US currency falls, gold becomes cheaper and demand increases.

Silver fell 1 percent to $ 15.27 an ounce, while platinum added 0.8 percent to $ 808.75 per ounce.
