O exchange rate in Mexico opened on Tuesday amid data on the Mexican economy that indicate lower public spending by the government of Andres Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

O dollar in Mexico, operated in the early hours of the morning with an increase of 0.07% to 19.12 Mexican pesos per dollar, compared to 19.11 at the close of the previous day. This is according to data from the Central Bank of Mexico (Banxico).

Ministry of Finance data showed that the programmable expenditures of the AMLO government in December last year fell by 25.3% in real terms, compared to the same month of 2017.

In addition, the price of dollar was influenced by BBVA Research's warning about a slowdown in car sales in the European Union (EU), which would cause a brake on exports of Mexican cars.
