Agustín Godoy, a medical student, was accused of the crime of "treason to the motherland" after he offered to help humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
The complaint was made by the National Network of Physicians through its Twitter account. "The persecution and incarceration of humanitarian aid personnel is a crime of humanity," he wrote.
They noted in the publication that international law protects them because no doctor or health personnel could be detained or persecuted for providing humanitarian assistance.
