Stress, considered one of the most frequent illnesses today, is a physical, mental or emotional response to certain physical, social or psychological situations.

This was confirmed by a recent study from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which said that this condition is harmful to the body, causing adverse effects such as anxiety, sleep, chronic fatigue and increased appetite.

According to Norma de Jesus Yépez García, of the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health of the Faculty of Medicine of UNAM, stress detonates problems such as sleep, anxiety, reluctance, lack of concentration, despair, chronic fatigue, anxiety and the increase in consumption. of foods, mainly carbohydrates.

Our body seeks balance, but when something goes out of control and we face a problem, or when the strategies we use do not usually work, we enter into a crisis. "

Some factors that can trigger stress are work, traffic, financial problems, exams, insecurity or illness.

One of the weapons to combat it is cognitive-behavioral therapy, which seeks to modify the way the environment is interpreted, as well as the subjective assessments that are made of it.

People with stress can also:

  • Constantly sick
  • Act unusual when eating
  • Listen to the noises that no one hears
  • Have diarrhea or constipation
  • Having exaggerated the pain in the menstrual period
