Luisa Ortega Díaz, prosecutor-general in exile, on Tuesday rejected the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to grant the presidency of the Student Federation of the University of Carabobo to the candidate, Jessica Bello Barreto.
The prosecutor indicated that the measure ratifies the thesis that the government maintains the institutions in Venezuela as hostages.
"This action against the University of Carabobo ratifies that tyranny keeps the institutions as hostages to impose their crimes and continue to trample the Venezuelans," Ortega published via Twitter.
The prosecutor also urged students to organize to not accept what they described as a criminal decision that violates their rights.
"Students should organize themselves not to accept this criminal decision that violates their rights," he added.
This action against the University of Carabobo confirms that tyranny keeps institutions hostage to impose their crimes and continue to trample on Venezuelans. Students must be organized to NOT comply with this criminal decision that violates their rights! https://t.co/dzP9o8RBZW
