The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) Tuesday appointed a committee to hold a popular consultation to advance parliamentary elections, elections that must be held in 2020 because the National Assembly is still in force.

Cabelló detailed that the commission will be chaired by Darío Vivas, a member of the ANC, who will consult the "bases of popular power" so that the ANC subsequently takes the decision to call elections, a function that corresponds to the National Electoral Council.

"We have heard that the opposition called for elections, I believe that one way to please the opposition's request is to have the National Assembly elections, the only one that was not legitimized before the national constituent assembly," said opposition leader Diosdado Cabello. of the ANC.

Cabello said the organization planned to hold parliamentary elections during the session on Tuesday. "Of course we'll call them together," he said of the Legislative Palace.
