Elton John Cancels Sold-Out Shows in Orlando, Tampa

ORLANDO, Fla. – Music legend Elton John, who was scheduled to perform in Orlando at the Amway Center Tuesday night and Tampa Wednesday night, has canceled his sold-out shows due to an ear infection.

Amway Center officials in Orlando announced on Twitter that the singer would not be able to perform due to the ailment.

Officials announced the show's cancelation on Twitter almost an hour after 8 p.m., when the Orlando show was scheduled to start.

Amway Center officials encouraged them to keep their tickets, as the "Orlando rescheduled date will be announced in the near future."

He was scheduled to perform in Tampa Wednesday night at the Amalie Arena, but the sold-out show has since been postponed and rescheduled as well.

Amalie Arena officials in a news release have purchased the original show for the rescheduled date.

Elton John is currently on his farewell tour, "Farewell Yellow Brick Road," across the world. It kicked off in the U.S. in September.
