Duke point guard Tre Jones is away from home indefinitely with a right shoulder injury suffered in the 95-91 loss to Blue Devils on Monday night in Syracuse.
Team spokesman Mike DeGeorge said Jones suffered a joint separation of control during a collision with Frank Howard of Syracuse who left the duke's guard lying on the court.
In this type of injury, the clavicle is separated from the scapula.
Jones did not return after he collided with Howard while chasing a lost ball with 14:23 in the first half. Howard got his third foul in the game – the fourth game robbery.
Jones, the younger brother of former Duke and current guardian of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Tyus Jones, has a rate of return of 5.93 that is almost double of any other player in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
He was replaced by former champion Jordan Goldwire, with rookie RJ Barrett also helping in defense against the Orange shipowners.
The Blue Devils were already under a match when Cameron Reddish was presented with flu-like symptoms. They had the feeling of freshman Zion Williamson who was in the starting lineup two days after he was poked in the eye the first half of a win in the state of Florida.
Williamson was the last Duke player to preheat before Monday's game against Syracuse. He released with no apparent problems about an hour before the tip and was advertised as holder about 30 minutes later.
The star freshman was poked in the left eye by the Seminoles Trent Forrest in the second half of the 80-78 Blue Devils win in the state of Florida and immediately fell to court in the obvious pain.
