Over the weekend, talking about his future, Ferdinand told the BT Sport panel: "In an ideal world, I would love to have participated in coaching … and potentially a managerial role.

"But circumstances change for whatever reason in life and you just have to settle for it."

Without thinking twice, Humphrey jumped back, answering, "What you mean is you're well paid to sit here and watch football … that's easier."
