There are rumors that the Galaxy A8s will become the first smartphone of the Samsung brand to be launched with a camera hole for display, and a new leak from China adds more fuel to the fire. If you take a look at the provided image, you'll notice the supposed screen protector of the Galaxy A8s, and it's not really hard to notice a display camera hole in the upper left corner of that screen saver. In addition, this screen protector also features a small cutout for the phone earphone on the top, while the bottom panel is always so slightly thicker than the top. Judging by this screen protector, the Galaxy A8s can actually be almost completely frameless, in addition to the camera's display hole, of course. This screen saver seems to be a bit curved to the side, but that's probably just a sign that the Galaxy A8 will have a curved glass on top of the screen, not that its screen is curved or anything like that. Rumor has it that the camera aperture of the screen measures 6.7 mm in diameter and, judging by that image, this may actually happen, since the screen hole appears to be quite large.
Background: Samsung had caused the arrival of the Galaxy A8 a few weeks ago, and during its press conference, the company actually suggested that the device would have a camera hole on the screen. The company has patented some of these designs lately, but it is not yet known when this phone will be made official. The Galaxy A8s will be part of the company's midrange Galaxy A series of devices, which is not surprising, as Samsung loves testing new features and design cues on midsize devices. The first Samsung-branded phone with three cameras on the back belongs to the Galaxy A series, the same goes for the company's first four-camera smartphone, the Galaxy A9. The Galaxy A8 is expected to be released soon, but it is not yet known when the company has yet to announce a date or anything.
Impact: The Galaxy A8s will probably not be the only Samsung branded phone to have a camera hole on display, not for long, since the company should launch a series of these phones in 2019. In fact, the Galaxy S10 is expected that bear a hole in the camera, at least if the rumors are believed, although the Galaxy S10 boasts a curved screen (at least some variants), and thinner monitors than the Galaxy A8, which suggests that the Galaxy S10 can in fact be completely frameless, but there is a footprint, of course, in the camera hole on the screen. These are just rumors for the moment though, we will have to wait for February next year when the company is expected to announce the Galaxy S10 so that we can see exactly what Samsung has reserved for us in 2019. While we expect this to happen, the Galaxy A8 will almost certainly become official, probably this phone will be released before the end of the year, but as already mentioned, nothing has been defined yet.
