Jonathan Ross announced the death of his mother "wonderful, loving and glamorous" at age 79.
The chat show host, 58, posted a Twitter message in honor of Martha Ross.
She was an actress and radio presenter who appeared in EastEnders, a BBC soap opera, as market operator for many years.
Ross said, "Today, my family and I will meet to say goodbye to our mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother Martha."
"A wonderful woman, loving, glamorous, thoughtful, vivacious, always smiling, always happy, always putting us first, we were lucky to have her, we loved you, Mom," she added.
