Joe Sugg said to 'act together' by Shirley Ballas about the strict claim

Joe Sugg was instructed to do whatever he wanted if he wanted to achieve a dance dream with Shirley Ballas.

The 27-year-old YouTuber is co-host of the Strictly Come Dancing podcast with Kim Winston and he had already stated his desire to dance a Rhumba as he did not get the chance last year when he reached the final with Dianne Buswell.

Despite claiming she was "desperate" to go to the dance floor to do her best, Shirley, a 59-year-old judge, said she was still waiting for his call.

Speaking on the podcast, Shirley refuted Joe's wishes by saying, "Well, you're not so desperate Joe, I'm still waiting for you to call and schedule an appointment.

"I think you're a little nervous, in fact, you promised to call, you couldn't act, boy.

"I'm still sitting here growing cobwebs waiting for you."

Kim asked how the pair would be scored by their fellow judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli, and Shirley was convinced there would be only one mark she would receive – though she wasn't so sure about Joe's contribution.

Shirley and Joe hope to share a Rhumba

Laughing at the prospect, Shirley said, "Well, I'm 10. But I'm not sure of you, Joe, anyway, talk to Joe, I'm waiting."

Joe admitted that he had considered contacting Shirley, but had not made the leap of faith.

He explained: "I think we said a long time ago, there were obviously two dances I didn't do, Tango and Rhumba, and she said," I'm the queen of Rhumba.

Shirley called Joe

"And I was like, 'We have to dance together,' you know, like two boxers, they obviously want to fight each other, but they're just trying to solve the problem."

Joe insisted he would be in touch and set a goal for him to take to the dance floor with Shirley.

He said, "This has to happen before the end of the year!"

Undoubtedly, your strictly professional girlfriend Dianne Buswell can help you get the right foot with Shirley.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 18:40 on BBC One.
