Girl, 11, donates organs after being hit and killed by car



Homages were paid to a "musical" student who died after being hit by a car.

Emily Williams, 11, was hit by Mercedes in Swindon, Wiltshire, on Friday afternoon.

She was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital, but died today.

Emily's family paid tribute to the "kind" child who last year donated her hair to a charity that provides wigs to troubled children.

In a statement, her family said, "Emily was very musical and always sang.

"Last year Emily donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children suffering from medical conditions or trauma.

Emily's hair was braided and had ribbons and ribbons and was then cut professionally to make the donation.

"Emily now donated her organs to help others."

Emily was involved in the collision at Meadowcroft Road, Upper Stratton, Swindon, at 2pm on Friday.

Traffic collision researchers closed the road for several hours to examine the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a Mercedes c180, remained in place. No arrests were made.
