Joining Nvidia, the technology company Powerhouse, CD Projekt Red produced some screenshots Cyberpunk 2077 of the highest quality. These 4K snaps were taken from the game running on what may be just a high resolution PC but they are indicative of what the Cyberpunk 2077 might seem to be running on next generation hardware like the PlayStation 5.
In addition, the screenshots show lightning tracking – the in-game lighting technology that Sony has been expanding every time we talk about the PS5. For those out of the loop, ray tracing is a much more realistic lighting rendering method, all in real time. Without being a technician, it gives a light "volume", allowing it to cover the surfaces or reflect the shiny objects more efficiently. Perhaps most importantly, it allows light to fill the space better, so in these screen shots, for example, you can see how light is filtered in the area, creating an incredibly realistic shine.
Now, we're not saying that Cyberpunk 2077 will look exactly like that on PS5 – unless the PS5 ends up costing a ridiculous amount of money – but the detail found in those photos should give you an idea of what to expect.
