WWE has confirmed that Dean Ambrose will leave the company in April.

The member of the shield, whose real name in Jonathan Good, reached an agreement on its release and will leave WWE after WrestleMania.

A brief account said, "We are grateful and grateful for all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him good luck and hope Dean someday returns to WWE."

Ambrose entered the development of WWE in 2011 after settling in the independent scene as Jon Moxley and was featured alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as The Shield in the 2012 Survivor Series.

He then went on to become a Grand Slam champion and most recently stopped the Intercontinental title, beating him from longtime friend and rival Rollins before losing it to Bobby Lashley.

Ambrose, whose real-life wife Renée Young is currently a commentator on Raw, appeared at the Royal Rumble on Sunday night and was eliminated by NXT star Aleister Black.
