Czech international Josef Sural was killed after a minibus carrying Aytemiz Alanyaspor's players crashed on his return from an out-of-home match.
Sural, a 28-year-old striker, died in the hospital where he and six of his companions were taken after the crash, the club said on Twitter.
Seven Alanyaspor players – including former England international Steven Caulker and former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse – rented a VIP minibus to return from a 1-0 draw with Kayserispor on Sunday and the bus dropped three kilometers coastal town of Alanya. .

Djalma Campos, Baiano, Welinton and Isaac Sackey were the other four players caught in the accident.
The rest of the club's players and staff returned with the team bus or alone, a Turkish official said, adding that the VIP bus driver had been detained following the accident and that an investigation had been initiated.
Club president Hasan Cavusoglu said the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. A second driver was sleeping at the moment.
"According to the information I received from our chief of police, although there were two drivers in the vehicle, they were both asleep. The accident happened as a result of both being asleep, "said Cavusoglu of the Turkish state agency Anadolu.
Sural only joined the Turkish Super Lig club in January of the Czech team Sparta Prague.

Speaking on the TRT Spor television channel, Sural's teammate Haydar Yilmaz said: "It's like a joke, I still can not believe it.
I wish there was something we could do. I do not know what to do. The situation of our injured friends is good, but they are psychologically very bad.
The former Sural club, Sparta Prague, was one of the first to pay homage to its former captain after news of his death.

Teammate Caulker, who scored his first goal for the club on Sunday in a 1-0 draw with Kayserispor, posted messages on his Instagram.

He tweeted in Czech, writing: "Sad news this morning. Sincere condolences to the family and to all loved ones. Rest in peace.
Former France international and team-mate at Sparta in Prague, Rio Mavuba, said: "Besides football, a good man. We all think of you, Josef and your family.
Sural began his career at FC Zbrojovka Brno having passed his academy. He made 37 appearances for the club before moving to Slovan Liberec in 2011.
He made the move to Sparta Prague in 2016, where he was captain until his move to Turkey in January.
Sural was 20 times international for his country, scoring his only goal in a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in October 2015.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
