TRIBUTES are coming to Baroness Trumpington, Bletchley's veteran conservative and decapitating policy who died at the age of 96.
The son of Jean Barker, Adam, confirmed his death in a humorous tweet tonight, just one year after his retirement.
He posted a photo of his pass, writing: "My mother passed away this afternoon while she slept. She did not arrive in October 2022 (100) … but she had good bloodshed."
The English conservative politician was born Jean Barker, an heiress of a Chicago painter.
For years a socialite from New York, Jean met William Alan Barker, an officer of the British Army, who was injured in Normandy on June 16, 1944.
He offered to return to her with London, and they were engaged in October 1953.
She was forced to seek a license from the Attorney General to become the first couple in modern times to hold a wedding at the Royal Hospital Chapel, Chelsea, which took place on March 18, 1954.
