Arsenal News: This decision of Unai Emery shows a vital change of Arsene Wenger – experts | Football | Sport

This is the opinion of Sky Sports specialist and former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Ozil was an unused substitute for Arsenal in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium.

The former German international started the previous four Premier League games for the Gunners.

After the match, Emery stated that Ozil was left out because of the "physicality and intensity" he expected.

"We think how we can be better in the game today, a very demanding game with physicality and intensity," said Emery.

"But every player is important.

"We also tried three defenders today, as at some points of the season, we are working today and it is another possibility to improve or find our best performance in the team."

Hasselbaink says Mesut Ozil must now prove to Emery why he should start all games.

But the Dutchman said that shows a major shift from the reign of former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, saying that all players should win their place in the team.

"He has to put the manager in a position that he is the first on the sheet," Hasselbaink told Ozil.

"And at the moment he's not doing it.

"He's not creating enough, as we know he can. It has to start producing week after week.

"What this manager is bringing to Arsenal now is that no one is safe from a place.

"You have to produce and that's why they're stronger.

"That's why you see a certain urgency in their game.

"And I think he's trying to give Ozil a kick in the ass sometimes."
