Manchester City and Arsenal are ready to take part in the race for Idrissa Gueye, if Everton sanction their exit this month, we can reveal.

Both clubs were alerted to the prospect of the 29-year-old's arrival – who asked to leave Everton after Paris Saint Germain made an offer for his signature.

It seems unlikely that PSG will come back this time, having signed Leandro Paredes, but Gueye is aware that other clubs are trying to win him.

The Toffees told him that they do not let him leave this month, but despite the closing deadline this Thursday – Gueye remains open to the prospect of leaving.

TEAMtalk has learned that both City and Arsenal are Gueye fans, and made it clear they would be interested – how and when it is available.
