WBO Names Usyk As Mandatory Heavyweight Champion
Ukrainian rival determined after revenge Ruiz and Joshua.
Alexander Usik was named by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) as mandatory nominee for the world heavyweight title, Boxing Scene reports.
The Ukrainian was planning to keep his fight against Anthony Joshua in the near future, but the sensational victory of Andy Ruiz forced him to change plans. Now until the end of the year, Ruiz and Joshua will hold a rematch, priced at four league titles.
According to the classification, Dillian White should be considered a candidate, but the WBO believes that the status of absolute world heavyweight champion gives the Mustache an advantage over the British.

His first fight after the transition to heavyweight that Usik was to pass against Carlos Takama on another May 25, but because of Alexander's injury, the meeting was postponed to September.
