Metropolitan Boryspil and Brovarsky Anthony stated that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate decided not to participate in the unification council, and would punish the bishops who were there. This is reported by the UOC Information Center on Facebook.

"Our church has adopted a conciliar decision, which is binding on all believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) to fulfill. This applies to both the episcopate, the clergy and lay people. This decision specifically stated that no one of the so-called" unifying council " we can not, "he said.

According to Anthony, if this decision is violated by some bishops, it will be assessed as a "canonical violation."

"Anything that goes against the canonical rules and decisions adopted by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be assessed as a canonical violation followed by appropriate disciplinary action," Antony said.

He noted that the kind of disciplinary action that can be applied to apostates will be determined by the holy synod.

"The decision will be made by the sacred synod according to the canonical rules of the church," Anthony said.

Recall that on October 11, the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate decided to continue the work on granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian Church. In addition, he removed the anathema of Patriarch Filaret and Metropolitan Macarius and declared illegal the subordination of the Metropolis of Kiev to the Russian Church in 1686.

On October 15, the ROC Synod decided to completely break off relations with the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

On November 13, the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Moscow ruled that the accession of the episcopate, clergy and faithful of the UOC-MP to the process of creating a single church is impossible.

On the same day, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, held a meeting with a part of the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP). President of the President of Ukraine, Svyatoslav Tsegolko, commenting on the meeting of President Poroshenko with a group of UOC-MP bishops in the Ukrainian Chamber, said the Russian scenario to discredit the decision of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to continue work on the provision of autocephaly to the Ukrainian Church was frustrated
