Volvo's former subsidiary, Polestar, introduced the Polestar 2 electric fastback, which became the second independent model in the automaker's line.
Sweden's Polestar retired from Volvo in September 2017. As an independent manufacturer, the company took on the issue of "hybrid" electric and "loaded" vehicles. The first model of the brand – a hybrid Polestar 1 coupe, built on the SPA platform, debuted in October 2017.
The company notes that with the starting price of 39,900 euros, the new Polestar 2 will compete with the Tesla Model 3. However, the first year after the launch of the fastback market will be offered only in the Launch Edition at a price of 59,900 euros.

Polestar 2 is the first mass model of the brand. Fastback, built on the Volvo platform – CMA – is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 300 kilowatts. The "hundred" electric car accelerates in less than five seconds. A battery with a capacity of 78 kilowatt hours, consisting of 27 modules, allows you to drive up to 500 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge.
The fastback equipment will also include a multimedia system on the Andorid with an 11-inch screen, supporting most Google services, a digital dashboard, LED pixel lights and a panoramic roof. With the Performance option package, the Polestar 2 will have Öhlins shock absorbers, Brembo brakes, special 20-inch wheels, seat belts and golden brake calipers.
