Ukraine turned to Naftogaz for Plan B because it was impossible to stop the North Stream-2 gas pipeline being built. This was announced by the company's CEO, Yuri Vitrenko, on the ZIK channel.

He noted that despite all efforts made by Kiev, "Nord Stream – 2" is still built, as the German government and the Germans support. Vitrenko says it is possible that, after the project is implemented, Ukraine may lose the transit of Russian fuel through its territory, and authorities have begun implementing Plan B.

Ukraine demands damages if Nord Stream II is launched

"First of all, we are trying to compensate for financial losses, we have begun a new arbitration process where we need more than $ 12 billion, of which ten is compensation that will not be transit after 2019. – First of all, this is a spare option after the first option – "The Plan" – to preserve transit, "said Naftogaz CEO.

Recall that in July, Naftogaz filed a lawsuit against Gazprom in the arbitration arbitration in Stockholm, requiring $ 11.58 billion in damages and a review of gas tariffs. The Russian company made a counterclaim.

Earlier, Vesti reported that the Polish President threatened North Stream 2 for Ukraine and Slovakia. In addition, Poroshenko called the "North Stream-2" Trojan of the Kremlin.
