Huawei is actively working on a folding phone, which will also provide support for 5G. The final product has already been shown to representatives of operators in Korea.
The official announcement of the smartphone will be held in February next year, writes GizmoChina.
It seems that South Korea could be one of the first markets to receive a 5G foldable Huawei phone, since it is the only country other than the US where, as expected, 5G networks will be marketed in the first half of 2019. In the second half of 2019, 5G networks can be marketed in Japan, China and Europe.
A representative of one of the Korean mobile operators confirmed to reporters that the new gadget from Huawei is a serial device, not a prototype. However, no feature of the gadget was named.
Other sources point out that the Chinese manufacturer may show its folding phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in February next year. The phone will be equipped with flexible OLED panels.
According to rumors, the size of the external monitor screen is 5 inches, and a large internal display – 8 inches. The monitor may have been manufactured by BOE, a manufacturer of Chinese monitors. The Samsung device has screen sizes of 4.6 and 7.3 inches, respectively.
To connect the 5G, the company is expected to use a Balong 5000 5G modem. Your smartphone can also be equipped with a fingerprint scanner under the monitor.
