The film "The Turning Point: The War of Democracy in Ukraine," co-directed by Oles Sanin and Mark Jonathan Harris, has been included in the list of films that will qualify for Oscar in the category "Best Documentary". About this Sanin reported on his Facebook page.
The "inflection point" covers the period from 2013 to 2016. The film contains evidence of political, criminal and war crimes in the territory of Ukraine. While working on the image, the creators recorded more than 86 interviews with participants of the Revolution of Dignity and events in eastern Ukraine.
The film shows the history of the Ukrainian struggle for its own state through the eyes of the military, medical workers, journalists, theater figures and all those who have left their usual lives for the struggle for democracy. Professors Anne Applebaum and Timothy Snyder, former President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk and former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk lead the narrative.
