Around 100 fans led Massimo Carrera at Sheremetyevo Airport – Sport

MOSCOW, November 8. / Tass. Around 100 supporters of Spartak Moscow football club arrived at the meeting with former Italian coach Massimo Carrera at Sheremetyevo airport. This is reported by the scene TASS correspondent.

Fans began meeting at the meeting announced by Carrera two hours before the start. The coach wanted to say goodbye to the fans again and thank them before returning home.

First, the mourners gathered in the street and, waiting for the Italian, sang chants in support of him. The former coach and his wife arrived at terminal E with a slight delay and immediately entered the tight circle of fans. The coach gave autographs for some time and willingly took pictures with the fans. To be registered, Carrera even needed the help of the police – the specialist followed the specially built aisle for the necessary procedures before departure.

At the airport, fans launched a banner already familiar with the matches of the Russian Championship with the words "Massimo, grazie per tutto, e stato, perfetto" ("Massimo, thank you for everything, it was perfect"). After that, the participants moved to the terminal's departure area, where an impromptu meeting took place.

Carrera came out to fans and under the corner "A Tutti! Avanti! Massimo Carrera!" ("Together! Forward! Massimo Carrera!") For about half an hour devoted to autographs and photo shoots. The mourners dedicated to the former coach and other corners, waving red and white scarves.
The fans did not want to leave Carrera, who was less than an hour before the match, so that the Italian, thanking everyone again and waving his hand, sought passport control.

"Let's miss Carrera"

Together with the Italian coach, fans of "Spartacus" have survived many pleasant moments. It was under his leadership that the red and white 16 years later became the champion of Russia again, won the Super Bowl of the country, won the Spanish "Seville" in the Champions League with a score of 5: 1.

But the start of this season has not been set – the team failed to return to the Champions League group stage, and the series of unsuccessful home games in the Russian Premier League took Spartak away from the lead. At the same time, Carrera's conflict with captain Denis Glushakov, who was removed from work with the main team, developed.

In late October, the Moscow club board decided to release Carrera from work as a coach. Two days after the resignation, the 54-year-old Italian, on his own initiative, gave a press conference in which he answered questions from journalists and did not just address everyone on social networks.

The interim coach of "Spartacus" was named the Spaniard Raul Riancho, who was part of the Italian specialist's headquarters. Immediately, Glushakov was returned to the first team. This chain of decisions was made by active Spartak supporters, who in the stands after the home games are booing and insulting club president Leonid Fedun, Riancho and Glushakov. It's your fans who are to blame for the retirement of your beloved coach.

"Of course, we'll miss Massimo," said fan Ivan at the airport meeting. "With him, the team has achieved a lot, there were victories, who is to blame for that, you already know." We would like Carrera back, but I think in those realities it is impossible.
