Former Minister of Culture of Egypt establishes Foundation for Culture and Arts


The foundation, set up by Egypt's former Minister of Culture, Farouk Hosni, was officially approved by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in preparation for the beginning of its cultural and artistic activities.

The Farouk Hosni Foundation for Culture and the Arts has carried out the administrative procedures for the registration of the institution and is expected to announce the Foundation during the days of its composition of the Board of Trustees and the list of various activities that the Foundation intends to practice . The Foundation is also scheduled to announce the date of its official launching ceremony.

The Foundation chose to base itself in the Zamalek neighborhood, which will include the artist's museum, and includes many of his paintings and collections. The Foundation chose their logo by following one of the artist's portraits for their self-portrait.

The Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and the Arts will be interested in various branches of creativity and all components of culture, according to a concept that emphasizes that culture is able to assimilate all human creative practices and is able to develop its humanity, and will not deviate from purely national cultural orientations. Create an attractive space for young people and contribute to the support of creative creative energy owners and the original talent.

During his tenure as Minister of Culture, Hosny was known for his enthusiasm for creative youth projects, especially at the Fine Arts Youth Salon, and founded the Creative Center where many of the stars of the current generation formed and launched many cultural festivals as the Modern Dance Festival, the Experimental Theater. And other cultural projects that took a quantum leap in the Egyptian cultural scene in the late twentieth century and the beginning of the new millennium.
