LONDON (Reuters) – Newcastle beat Manchester United 2-1 at home against Burnley 2-1 at the end of the English second division.

Both teams entered the game with equal points (9 each) and are in a late position in the overall standings, but Newcastle took the three points to 13th, while Burnley remained in 17th.

The three goals came in the first half and Newcastle opened early with Burnley Ben Leigh, who kicked Federico Fernandez's strong past goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Sieran Clarke was the second defender of a header, 23 before Burnley responded by attacking Sam Fox, who hit the ball in the entrance of the area and put the ball into the net with Slovak goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Despite the attempts of the two teams in the second half, the score has not changed.
