The Ministry of Community Development approved the names of 374 beneficiaries of matrimonial scholarships during the first quarter of 2019 with a total of 26 million and 180,000 dirhams were disbursed to the beneficiaries and transferred to their bank accounts and notified via SMS, where the value of the marriage allowance is 70 thousand dirhams, for the beneficiary who fulfills the conditions.
Community Development Minister Hessa Bint Isa Abu Humaid said that the goals of marriage scholarships are consistent with the UAE government's vision and reflect the ministry's desire to be a cohesive family, a cohesive society to ensure that cohesive and prosperous families remain the core of UAE society. It stimulates marriage between citizens and citizens on the basis of building stable and strong families and strengthening the social ties between them, given that the family is the main pillar of the development and stability of society, family ties are rooted and sustainable development.
For its part, the director of the marriage grant, Wahida Khalil, pointed out various conditions and controls to obtain the grant, including that the applicant and his wife are citizens of the state, that the husband's age should not be less than 21 years and that the wife is 18 years old at the wedding. The person is unable to pay for the marriage because he or she has limited means and income or who benefits from social assistance and his or her net income does not exceed 25,000 dirhams after deduction of the retirement allowance and housing allowance, if any.
