To mark the anniversary, we remember ten games for the Game Boy, which are among the best that the mobile video game console had to offer.

The Nintendo Game Boy was for many years the best-selling portable console in the world before being replaced by the Nintendo DS. Model Eva Padberg is currently experiencing the successor to the Game Boy here.

"Tetris" is not at all a cult classic. The fact that the only Game Boy was available for a while with this title greatly increased the game's popularity. So far, it has been said that the game has sold more than 100 million copies in its different variants.

"DuckTales" not only thrilled the NES, but also with a door to the Game Boy. The game is based on the popular animated series "DuckTales – News from Entenhausen".

Of course, this list should not miss "Super Mario Land". Nintendo's mascot jumped in Japan in 1989 for the first time in Game Boy.

Most fans should know that Mario – seen here at Gamescom – was already working as a doctor. In "Dr. Mario" he fights off evil viruses with pills. The gameplay is similar to that of "Tetris".

The graceful Kirby plush ball is now one of the most popular characters in the Nintendo universe. His debut was in 1992 with "Kirby's Dream Land" in the Game Boy.

One of the most popular games ever is "The Legend of Zelda". Of course, Link's adventures can be experienced in Game Boy too. In 1993, the first title in the series for a handheld appeared with "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening".
