The rebellion of the Basie Wirtschaftsgymnasiums' manager pants caused a stir on Friday. The Gymnasium is the only school in Basel where there is ban on comfortable pants.
"Today is the last day of high school graduation, this day is always a Klamauktag," says Patrick Langloh, Rector of the Economic Gymnasium, on request for 20 minutes. It was the first time these high school graduates raised the issue, so Langloh sees no basis to change the dress code. "Of course, if it became a serious subject at school, we would discuss it accordingly," he says.
That's what our readers say
Among the 20-minute readers, the ban caused an emotional debate in the comment column. "Even if students do not want to admit, no one can work with training pants anywhere. This business school is a preparation, so apply the rules of economics," wrote one reader.
But not everyone shares their opinion, on the contrary. Instructor trousers may be appropriate, another said: "The training suits of certain brands make something beautiful. After completing a degree in business administration, a Breitling, Rolex or IWC shines on your wrist. So you're good again in line.
User "Tommy" does not like training pants in public, but freedom says, "I've never left home in my life with workout pants. And the only reason I do that is to demonstrate against such cuts in personal freedom ".
Leonhard Gym has successfully withstood
A look back shows: Basel students are bound by the freedom to use whatever they want. Two years ago, the Leonhard Gymnasium discussed the prohibition of training pants.
The subject warmed the mind, even in the cantonal parliament, was on the agenda. But even teachers were not enthusiastic about the idea of banning, the proposal was dropped.
