The company Assa Abloy has a major focus on Eskilstuna while the company is closing the production of lock cylinders in Denmark and Norway. He declares Swedish radio station P4 Sörmland.
"That means we doubled cylinder production in Eskilstuna," says Ulf Sjölund, project manager for Assa Abloy Opening Solutions for Swedish Radio.
In February, Eskilstuna Kuriren told us that Assa in Eskilstuna won the group's production of cylinders. The production of cylinders in the company of the TrioVing group in Norway and Ruko in Denmark was transferred to Eskilstuna. This means that the production of cylinders in Eskilstuna will almost double.
"You want to get as much volume as possible to focus on a more modern production facility with modern methods and modern equipment," said Peter Kazinczy, executive director of Assa AB, for Eskilstuna-Kuriren.
And now the production shift has already begun, reports Sveriges Radio P4 Sörmland.
Assa Abloy will make investments of at least SEK 50 million in Eskilstuna and build a state-of-the-art production facility, "explains Ulf Sjölund of Swedish radio.
The Danish factory was moved to Eskilstuna in October and on November 22, the Norwegian cylinder manufacture for Eskilstuna is moved. Initially, 100 new jobs will be created, but it is unclear how many of them will become permanent because they can be done by robots in the future.
Ulf Sjölund says the company invests in and renovates old facilities.
"We are now in a position to build a new, state-of-the-art cylinder plant, the most efficient cylinder mill in the world," he said.
On Monday, November 26, Assa Abloy will begin manufacturing cylinders for the Norwegian market in Eskilstuna, Swedish radio says.
