The Stockholm Open crowd earned a decent value for the Royal Tennis Hall entrance fee on Friday night. The last quarterfinal between Janko Tipsarevic and Yuichi Sugita became a tough and almost endless duel – which only ended after just over three hours.
Next, Japanese Yuichi Sugita, who passed qualifying as "loser of luck", was the winner with the numbers 6–2, 4–6, 7–6. Sugita was very tired at the end and only decided after the feud that Janko Tipsarevic saved the whole nine balls. At the same time, for the 35-year-old Serb, the loss meant the end of a long career on the ATP tour.
In the semi-finals Sugita will meet Canadian Denis Shapovalov. The second seminar is played between Serbian Filip Krajinovic and Spanish Pablo Carreno Busta.
