HTC at home unveiled its latest U-series smartphone. But do not expect a top-end model. On the contrary, it is a middle-class model that offers an interesting combination of hardware and battery.
The HTC U19e has a classic AMOLED 6-inch display without clipping or trimming. Above are two lenses. Below one is a 24 Mpx webcam, under the other is a biometric 2 Mpx sensor to unlock with the eye. But the fingerprint scanner is in the back.
On the back is a dual camera with 12 Mpx sensor under f / 1.8 optics and 20 Mpx sensor under f / 2.6 telephoto lens. Thanks to this, the novelty is able to use the optical zoom of 2X. Of course, artificial intelligence is also supported. They say it's on the two sensors to ensure the best possible photos. It uses phase detection to focus. But if the optics are stabilized it is not known. The video can be recorded at a maximum resolution of 4K UHD at 30 fps.
The monitor has Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2160 px) and therefore 18: 9 aspect ratio and HDR10 support. Inside there is a Snapdragon 710 processor with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory that can be expanded with a microSDXC card. Of course there is Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5 or NFC, but also GPS / GLONASS. The HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi stereo speakers are known from other brand models above and below the screen.
All of this feeds a 3,930 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 4.0 via USB-C (USB 3.1) port. The smart phone has dimensions of 156.5 x 75.9 x 8 mm and weighs 180 grams. The operating system is Android 9.0 with HTC Sense.
The new product will be sold in the domestic market this month with a price of TWD 14,900, which is about 420 euros. On sale will be in deep purple and thin green. The purple version has, by the way, part of the back is almost translucent. It works quite efficiently.
