Gábor Grendel responded to suspected fraud by writing firefighters for the Beavers Slovak Union registration without his knowledge and without being active members.

The current chairman of the Fire and Fire Brigade (HAZZ), Alexander Nejedlý, is due to be fired by Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD). On Thursday, a member of the National Council (NR), Gábor Grendel (NGO), announced. He reacted to suspected fraud by registering firefighters for the Beavers Slovak Union registration without his knowledge and without being active members. He states that Nejedlý and Saka knew this, while the president took responsibility for the wrong person.

"There is a serious suspicion that one of the national sports associations has been recognized by the Ministry of Education as a fraudulent act by a fire brigade officer," Grendel said. He also added the suspicion that, thanks to this fraud, the union was using subsidies and that it was also betraying subsidies from the Ministry of Education.

Grendel explained that according to the Sporting Act, an accredited national sports association is an association that has at least 100 active athletes and can receive education grants. In his words, the Union of the Beavers has become so.

Subsidy fraud

With regard to firefighters in the union, he pointed out a number of cases and investigations on subsidies. He also noted that in this case, they were subject to the wrong person.

That is why Grendel appeals to Nejedly's appeal. "However, the Minister Denisa Sakova has the power to dismiss him from office." So with the failure of Alexander Nejedly, he has full political responsibility, "Grendel said.

"He did not act against the real culprits and protects the one who caused the scandal," Grendel said. In this context, he also asked the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) to verify the applications of the Slovak Association of Bobsters for the granting of subsidies and their billing.
