The new compact SUV introduced Kia in India upon entering the market. However, Seltos will be sold in several countries around the world.
Kia enters the Indian market and therefore introduced a new small SUV in Delhi. For us, the new Seltos is interesting because it is a global model and reaches markets around the world. So far, we can only see a compact SUV in some photos. Although it was given a "nose of tiger" mask in front, we identified the Kia brand, but at the same time it is wider and different than we are accustomed to other Kia cars. The headlights have also gained a new shape. The signs below are also significant. All lights, including fog lights, use LED technology. The appearance of the front is reinforced by distinct silver elements that contrast sharply with the red varnish. In the back, the designers tried to create the impression of a sports car with a pair of fake exhaust pipes and a diffuser.
We have not yet come to the pictures of the interior, but we saw in the first sketch, and also in the livestream of the show. The dominant feature is the 10.25-inch touchscreen on the panel. In various parts of the interior, the contrasting red elements as well as aluminum details have their place. At first glance, they are not just cheap solutions for less developed markets. Kia definitely wants to succeed with the most demanding customers. The equipment, like the whole car, is geared towards young and technologically based people. That's why the connectivity options, a premium Bose audio system and an 8-inch premium head-up are missing in the car.

Basic information we've learned about mechanisms. Your offer varies by market and not every engine will be available in all countries. The 1.6 T-GDI 130 kW, powered by gasoline, is a typical example of the engine offered in Europe. The offer will be complemented by an atmospheric gasoline engine of 2,0 l with output of 110 kW. The diesel will be represented by the weaker 1.6-liter engine with 100 kW. However, during the livestream, brand representatives also mentioned the 1.4 T-GDI petrol engine, which Seltos will go to the Indian market. The variety of gearboxes also varies from market to market. The choice will be a CVT transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (typical for Europe). The new Kia Seltos seems to rely on front-wheel drive. However, we do not get specific specifications until after the individual markets. It will be produced in Indian factories in the district of Anantapur and Andhra Pradesh, but also in Gwangju, Korea. Global markets will still be there this year.
