In China, remains of a brand new type of dinosaur with bats-like wings were discovered. It is a very strange discovery that is unique and the researchers promise a lot with it.

Fossil remains were found in the famous archaeological site of Liaoning, northeast China. Min Wang, Chinese paleontologist and study director published and described a new dinosaur that is professionally called Ambopteryx longibrachium. "He did not look like a bird or a dinosaur," Wang said, initially confused. Finally, the study showed that it was actually a small dinosaur with single forelegs and membrane wings. The remains are about 163 million years old and is only the second similar discovery of a dinosaur with wings similar to bats.

The second dinosaur with similar wings was the Yiqi, which was introduced to the public in 2015. Wang said that the soft tissue discovered in the fossils of this latest discovery provided some interesting evidence of the life of a mysterious animal. However, the expert further states that it is unlikely that this small dinosaur with a wing length of 32 centimeters and a weight of approximately 306 grams, was able to fly. "He does not have the necessary flight muscles – the sternum to allow him to fly." Both Yiqi and Ambopteryx belong to a small group of dinosaurs called scansoriopterygids.

China is still a leading country in the discovery of new fossils of several species of these prehistoric animals.
