March 26 is the date when we all hope to see what Chinese device maker Huawei has been cooking for months since launching its latest premium device, the Huawei Mate 20 series, last year and the collapsible mate X in February.

And, true to form, Huawei did not disappoint.

At the launch event in Paris, the company announced its two new flagship smartphones, the Huawei P30 and the Huawei P30 Pro and a set of accessories ranging from wireless headphones to a 40 watt power bank that most of us want to have.

Although we can not confirm whether these accessories will hit the Kenyan market, although there is a high likelihood that the new Huawei watches will do so over time, we can confirm that the company is bringing the two smartphones soon. How much time? This month, actually.

The Huawei P30 Pro's quad-camera arrangement incorporating a 20-megapixel SuperSpectrum image sensor, an ultra-wide 20-megapixel lens, an 8-megapixel Periscope lens and a Time of Flight camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera won applause the first reviewers of the device[[[[Look this].

In addition to the P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei confirmed to us before the event on March 26 that another member of the P30 family who would not have air time in Paris, the Huawei P30 Lite.

Sharing a design aesthetic similar to the standard P30, but going with the mid-range Kirin 710 that can be found in the Huawei Y9 2019 (while the P30 and P30 Pro keep the test tested and Chipset Kirin 980), the P30 Lite is expected to achieve at least half the order price of the Huawei P30.

This is something we had hoped for as it has become more of a tradition for Huawei for its high-end P and Mate series devices and Huawei noted last month that Lite devices "enrich and complement" their well-endowed . homologues. It is a key part of the Chinese company's global dominance plans.

Last year, Huawei would have sold more than 200 million smartphones, beating Apple, maker of the iPhone, to become the second largest smartphone maker in the world. In the first half of 2018, more than half of the 95 million smartphones the company had shipped belonged to its Newsee our newsletter). The new P30 Lite will also be available under the brand Nova as the Huawei Nova 4e, which is being sold in Asian and European markets.

We do not have pricing information for all 3 devices from now on.
