SINGAPORE – A fight with about 20 people erupted in Geylang early Thursday morning (April 4), just hours after another fight two streets away.
In response to questions, police confirmed on Saturday that a report had been filed and that they were investigating the matter.
Straits Times understands that the incident happened around 3 in the morning. The cause of the struggle is not known.
The brawl occurred at a pedestrian crossing near where Lorong 27A and 26 turn into Geylang Road.
In a video circulating on social media, a large group of about 20 people can be seen pushing and shoving themselves violently.
Yelling can be heard through all material, although the language and what is being said is not clear in the 20-second clip.
Although it is unknown whether any were injured, the Singapore Civil Defense Force said it did not respond to any incident at the time and place of the incident.
Thursday's fight came hours after another fight on two streets, or about 100 yards away.
ST reported earlier that two men were taken to hospital after a fight at a Lorong 25A Geylang coffee shop around 9:50 pm on Wednesday.
Subsequently, the police arrested one of them.
One of the men allegedly used one saw to cut the other. The latter then retaliated, hitting him on the head with a mug of beer, according to the Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News.
