Warner Bros. Pictures Aquaman crossed the $ 1 billion mark (Rs 7075 crore) at the world box office in a month of release.
DC's superhero adventure, directed by James Wan, ranked first in the world four weeks in a row internationally and the first place for three weeks in North America.
The announcement was made by Ron Sanders, president of Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures Group and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, read a statement.
"We are excited about the worldwide audience that has embraced Aquaman in such a big way. Jason, the filmmakers and the DC crew have delivered a movie that people love, and we are very grateful for their support," said Sanders.
Humble by the way you embraced Aquaman and how it resonated on a global scale.I will be eternally grateful to Jason for transforming Aquaman into one. the coolest and most cinematic Super Heroes of all time, and has become the gold standard for this character for the next generations. "
He thanked the cast members for "bringing our beloved characters to life."

The film tells the story of the native half-surface origin, Arthur Arthur, half-Atlantean, who takes him on the journey of his life – which will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of whom he was born to be a king. The action-packed adventure spans the vast and visually stunning underwater world of the Seven Seas, and stars Jason Momoa in the title role.
He also stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman.
Aquaman was released in 3D, 2D and IMAX and is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
