Dakar, Feb 28 (APS) – The re-election of Macky Sall, with 58.27% of the votes, reflects the renewed confidence of the Senegalese people, said Serigne Mbaye Thiam, representative of the candidate to the National Voting Commission.

According to the results of the national counting committee, Macky Sall obtained 58.27% of the votes of the 4,383,870 valid votes cast for 4 426 344 voters out of a total of 6,683,043 registered, a rate of 66.23% of participation.

He is ahead of Idrissa Seck, credited with 20.50%. Ousmane Sonko came in third with 15.67%, El Hadj Sall said El Hadj Issa Sall and Madické Niang, respectively, got 4.07 and 1.48% of the votes.
