Dakar, April 18 (APS) – Twenty Trainers from the Community Safety Assistance Agency (ASP) will strive to pass on to their 10,000 other colleagues the knowledge they gained after two weeks of training. in the self-defense baton of the National Police School, learned the APS.

The training is initiated by the European Union (EU), which supports civic engagement by professionalizing ASPs as key players in public safety for the benefit of the population, a statement said.

The ASP will be equipped with self-defense handles to defend itself in case of attacks as part of its mission, the source said.

She adds that the use of self-defense poles "requires in-depth technical and deontological learning."

This shows the value of this training, which is part of the Senegalese-EU internal security cooperation program, with funding of more than 6.559 million CFAF.

"Through this training, the EU also participates in strengthening ASP's role in safety, but also in civic engagement and social inclusion, especially in young people," the statement said.

He emphasizes that "the Agency is both a social and security actor, offering young people a useful role for society, financial reward and training for future work."
