Total Senegal, Total's subsidiary in Senegal, experienced significant growth in its domestic sales. In 2018, according to the African News Agency (APA), the multinational operating in the distribution of hydrocarbons achieved a high performance of ordinary activities of about 5,407 billion CFA francs (about 9,191 million dollars), an increase of 79.3% over previous years.
In the local market, Total Senegal is recognized as a leader in fuel distribution. This year, 2018, compared to the first half of 2017, when it stood at 3.015 billion CFA francs, this result for the first quarter of 2018 increased 79.3% (1 CFA equals $ 0.0017).
This performance is due in large part to the 16.9% growth of the company's sales in the domestic market, with an increase of 307,680 tons, against 263,306 tons.
Turnover, excluding taxes, increased by 21% in relative value to CFAF 184.892 billion, compared to CFAF 152.488 billion on June 30, 2017.
