A workshop to raise awareness of WTO notification requirements


The Ministry of Trade and Investment held a workshop in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Training Institute on "Notification Requirements" at the Ministry's headquarters.
The workshop aims to raise the awareness of officials of Kingdom government agencies to prepare notifications in a timely manner and to fulfill Kingdom obligations in this regard.
During the workshop, experts from the World Trade Organization (WTO) addressed the notification requirements of various WTO agreements, and several officials also participated in the preparation of notifications from various government agencies.
Abdul Rahman Al-Harbi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade and Investment for Foreign Trade, stressed the importance of these workshops to maximize the benefit of technical assistance provided by international organizations to build
Capacity at the national level.
WTO member states are obliged to send periodic notifications to the WTO, in accordance with specific regulations, with a view to ensuring transparency in intra-state trade.
