Amman – The value of shares purchased by non-Jordanian investors during the month of October 2018 was JD 356.6 million, representing 76.9 percent of the total volume traded.
The value of shares sold in the same period was JD 362.9 million. Net non-Jordanian investment during the month of October decreased by JD 3.6 million, compared to a decrease of JD 2.4 million in the same month of 2017.
The increase in the volume of transactions of non-Jordanian investors came as a result of the deal that was made in the Arab Potash Company with non-Jordanian investors, which totaled KD 328 million.
The value of shares acquired by non-Jordanian investors from the beginning of the year to the end of October amounted to JD2,713 million, representing 43.9 per cent of the total volume traded, while the value of shares sold from them amounted to KD 686.3 million Net non-Jordanian investment increased by 26.9 million KD, compared to a decline of 342.3 million KD in the same period in 2017.
In terms of Arab investors, the total value of their purchases from the beginning of the year to the end of October was 189.5 million dinars, representing 26.6% of the total value of non-Jordanians, totaling 523.8 million dinars. 73.4% of total non-Jordanian purchases.
The total value of Arab sales was JD 144.1 million, representing 21% of the total value of non-Jordanian sales. Non-Arab sales amounted to JD 542 million, representing 79% of the total value of non-Jordanian sales.
Thus, non-Jordanian investors' share of the listed companies at the end of October reached 48.9% of total market capitalization, with participation of Arabs of 36.8% and non-Arab investors accounting for 12.1% of total market capitalization. , Service sector (18.7%) and industrial sector (53.8%).
