ASHGABAT, 10 November. / Tass. Russian Tatyana Kashirina won the gold medal in the World Weightlifting Championship in the weight category over 87 kg. In the snatch, she lifted the bar weighing 145 kg, in the push – 185 kg, in the amount of exercises the Russian woman showed the result of 330 kg.
The second place was taken by the Chinese woman Meng Supin – 327 kg (143 + 184), Chaidii Douangaksorn of Thailand won the bronze – 296 kg (129 + 167).
This medal was second to the Russian team in the current tournament. Earlier, Artem Okulov became the world champion in the weight category up to 89 kg.
Kashirina, 27, became the world champion for the fifth time in her career (2010, 2013-2015, 2018). She is also a silver medalist at the London Olympics.
The World Championship in Ashgabat will end on 10 November. This tournament is the first for Russian weightlifters after a year and a half break caused by the disqualification of the Russian Federation of Weight Lifting (FTAR) by numerous violations of the anti-doping rules. Formerly, weightlifters had the opportunity to compete internationally in April 2017 at the European Championship in Split, Croatia. The deadline for disqualification of the FTAR expired on October 20.
