Huawei to launch EMUI 9.1 firmware based on Android 9 for 49 devices – Blogs

Huawei has officially announced that it will update almost 50 proprietary devices for its latest EMUI 9.1 firmware. The upgrade will not be released immediately for all gadgets – as you would expect, last year's flagships will initially receive the new firmware and then the older and cheaper gadgets.

In the near future, the EMUI 9.1 will be released for the Mate 20 smartphone series: the base Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and Mate 20 Porsche Design. A public beta of the next firmware has already been released for them.

After that, it will be possible to upgrade to the latest firmware version in which EMUI 9.1 is already being tested as part of the closed tests: Mate 10, Mate 9, P20, P10, new 4, new 3, new 3i, new 2s, Honor 8A, Honor 8X, Honor 7, Honor 10, Honor V10, Honor Note 10, Honor 9, Honor V9 and Honor Game.

The EMUI 9.1 introduced many innovations, some of which are hidden "under the hood". Among these discrete changes for regular users, it is worth highlighting the introduction of Arc Compiler technology, which increases the speed of the operating system (according to official data, this technology launches Huawei 44% faster programs and 60% third party applications) The emergence of a new file system called EROFS increases the speed of reading and initializing files as well as optimizes working with the operating system – the firmware takes up less space). In addition to the above, in EMUI 9.1, developers have redesigned the shell interface: it has become more unified and minimalist.
